Gary V. Powell is the author of several short stories and the soon-to-be published legal thriller, Pointe of Contenton
Mr. Powell's short fiction has appeared in the literary journals Independence Boulevard , the Dekalb Literary Review. and Amarillo Bay. His story, "Boat to Build," was a finalist in the prestigious Briar Cliff Review 2006 Fiction contest and was published in the spring 2007 edition.
Another story, "Homecoming," won third prize in SEAK's 2007 Legal Fiction Contest.
Most recently, his story, "Miller's Deer" was selected as runner up in the Thomas Wolfe Fiction Prize and is slotted for publication in the Thomas Wolfe Fiction Review later in 2008. His story "On Horicon Marsh" will appear in the fall edition of moonShine Review.
He's nearly finished with his second "Mitch Fawley" legal thriller, Beyond Redemption.
A native of Elkhart, Indiana and a graduate of Indiana University and Indiana University School of Law, Mr. Powell currently resides with his family in Cornelius, North Carolina, near beautiful Lake Norman.
He is at work on his second novel, Beyond Redemption.
